Description
The Cusco LSD limited slip differentials enhance a vehicles traction by reducing individual wheelspin, sensing when a wheel loses grip, and transferring power to the wheel with the most traction. This provides better control, especially during high-speed cornering. The Type-RS model features low initial torque, offering responsive handling and long-lasting performance, making it ideal for underpowered vehicles by minimizing drivetrain power loss. It produces less chattering noise compared to conventional systems and uses RS coil springs that maintain consistent pressure for stable, extended use. The design also provides a more direct throttle response, as activation and pressure are aligned on the same axis.

Features:
Initial Torque Pre-Load: 2-4kg.m
Features low initial torque for responsive handling and extended durability.
Reduces drivetrain power loss, making it ideal for underpowered vehicles.
Generates less chattering noise compared to traditional LSD systems.
Utilizes RS coil springs engineered to maintain consistent pressure for stable, long-lasting performance.
Provides a more direct driving experience, as the activation and pressure direction are aligned on the same axis, enhancing throttle control.
1-Way vs. 1.5-Way vs. 2-Way:
One-way LSD: A 1-way limited slip differential locks only during acceleration, using ramp clutches to generate locking force in one direction. This setup maximizes traction during acceleration while allowing easy maneuvers like parking. Its particularly suited for front-wheel-drive vehicles and the front axles of all-wheel-drive cars. The main advantages include improved lap times and enhanced control with precise pedal work, as the LSD stays inactive during deceleration, reducing understeer when cornering off-power.
1.5-way LSD: A 1.5-way LSD controls slip during both acceleration and deceleration, but the locking force varies, being stronger during acceleration. It provides better engine braking than a 1-way LSD and offers differential locking in both directions, making it a popular choice among racers. Drifters, however, often prefer the 2-way LSD for its full locking capability.
Two-way LSD: A 2-way LSD locks fully during both acceleration and deceleration, limiting slip in both directions. This type is commonly used in rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles.
